“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it is better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” For as long as I can remember, this quote from Marilyn Monroe has been a huge part of my life, and a large part of my artwork. However, it was not until this year when I started to explore the quote through the context of myself. Marilyn Monroe has been my role model for much of my life, especially during my teenage years when my body image was the most important thing in the world. Over the years, I have worked to discover myself, but I was never truly able to do so until this year. This project explores my body image, my obsession, and coming to terms with who I am.
